Volunteer Opportunities
PTO relies on the generous time and talents that our parents contribute to the school and events. Please take a minute to look at the list of events and programs below. Any volunteer time you can devote to one of these projects will be greatly appreciated and will benefit Fireside directly. Sign up sheets will be available in the lobby of the school during the open house.
Fireside Grill 'n' Bid - Help with booth set up, ticket sales, serving food, clean up, etc.
Fireside Spring Festival – Help with games, food and tickets sales at our end of the year event.
Movie Night/ Social Fundraiser - Need someone to chair this and help with food, ticket sales, clean-up etc.
Crossing Guards - help kids at cross walks before (7:50-8:05), or after (2:25-2:40) school.
Grocery Programs - we need help selling our Grocery Certificates for this easy fundraiser.
Back to School Brunch - A brunch to welcome teachers and staff back to school. This is for next Sept.- 2006-2007.
Staff Appreciation Week - Help with a PTO sponsored Staff Appreciation week in May.
Pictures - Help with student photos.
Math/Spell-A-Thon - Help organize and run this spring event.
ESL - Assist with the English as a Second Language program.
Health Room - Assist with record keeping, paperwork, as well as minor injuries and illnesses.
Computer Maintenance - Minor repairs, load software.
Art Show - Help to hang artwork for the Spring Art show.
Library - Shelve and label books; or cover books at home.
Special Education - Various opportunities to help students in this program.
Science Fair - Help organize and run this annual event.
Lunch room/Lunch recess - Help monitor the lunchroom and play ground.
School Improvement Team- SIT helps improve educational achievement, makes recommendations how school money is used, and looks at school safety issues.
PTO As Needed - Miscellaneous PTO “jobs” including food and beverages, sign making, and helping with the PTO table.
