We are pleased to again bring you zero-waste classroom parties!! The Fireside Green Team has purchased (in bulk) biodegradable and compostable supplies for every classroom party for the remainder of the year - and we can are ready to deliver your supplies for this week's Valentine's Day parties! So, if you are planning a classroom party, please read on.
We have plates, cups (for cold drinks), silverware, napkins and biodegradable compost trash bags available for each classroom to use - FREE OF CHARGE!
At this time, Fireside does not have a composting service. So we will ask that one parent from each classroom take the compost bag home to be put in their Louisville curbside compost service.
To order your supplies, simply reply to this e-mail (julanna (at) comcast.net) and fill out the form below by Wednesday, February 10th. Green Team volunteers will count out your supplies and deliver them to your classroom prior to your party. It's that easy! If you have leftover supplies, simply return them to the box marked "Party Supplies" in the Boy's locker room in the gym. One of our Green Team volunteers will make sure they get back to the proper place.
Tips for Composting Waste:
- All food waste can be placed in the compost bags. Please remove any tin foil wrappers that may come on muffins, cupcakes, candy, etc.
- All of the plates, silverware, napkins and cups can be placed in the compost bag.
- Please dump out any remaining liquid in the cups prior to placing them in the compost bag.
- Please place all recyclable items in your classroom's recycling box.
If you have questions or need further information, please feel free to contact me.
Thanks so much for your help. We appreciate your efforts to reduce and eliminate the waste from our parties!
